Beginning in 2015, the 18-piece RayVille Big Band has been thrilling Viennese audiences at Reigen, ORF Radio Kulturhaus, Die Bühne, Casnova, Porgy & Bess, and Metropol with authentic, powerful tributes to iconic artists such as Ray Charles, Nat King Cole.
Joey Green & The RayVille Big Band are passionately committed to keeping this music alive on the BIG stage. With the new release of their double album, " Live in Vienna" , the band expands its repertoire to include original interpretations of legendary music by artists such as Billy Joel, James Brown, Eddie Floyd, Al Greene, and even Gregg Allman!
From his early days to his collaboration with the Count Basie Orchestra, Ray Charles' influence on popular music can be heard on countless records by artists spanning the early decades of blues, jazz, R&B, and soul music and up to the present.
Look forward to hearing timeless classics from the aforementioned artists, performed by some of Vienna's most talented and sought-after musicians.
More recently, RayVille has been expanding its ever-growing catalog of authentic, big band titles--including many of their own compositions by Joey Green and trombonist/band leader Alex Lag.
